Iran Proposes Reopening Strait of Hormuz Within Seven Days if US Eases Military Pressure

Iran has proposed reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz within seven days if the United States takes steps to reduce military pressure, while also calling for renewed negotiations aimed at permanently ending military activities between the two nations. Revolutionary Guard spokesman Hossein Mohebi stated in a Tehran interview that Iran has raised its conditions after the US allegedly broke a June 17 roadmap agreement. New demands include lifting a blockade on Yemen, where Iran-backed Houthi forces are fighting Saudi-backed government troops. Tehran also requires ships to obtain authorization to pass through the strait, with a service fee mechanism under consideration. Mohebi warned Iran would escalate to offensive measures if the US launches further attacks.
