Rubio predicts Russia-Ukraine war will end through negotiations

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the Russia-Ukraine war will not end through a military victory by either side, but through a negotiated agreement. Rubio said there is currently no energy ceasefire deal between Ukraine and Russia, though he noted the war benefits neither side. He confirmed the U.S. remains ready to help bridge differences between the parties whenever opportunities arise. Rubio emphasized that the sooner negotiations conclude, the fewer lives will be lost and the less destruction will occur. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously said the U.S. would transmit Ukraine's energy ceasefire proposal to Russia.
