Zelensky offers Russia energy strike pause if Moscow halts attacks on Ukraine grid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told US President Donald Trump he is ready to halt attacks on Russian energy facilities if Moscow stops its strikes on Ukraine's power grid, warning Kyiv would respond to any attack. Zelensky announced the proposed "energy moratorium" in New York during the UN General Assembly, stating the US will relay the offer to Russia. He stressed that a real ceasefire requires stopping energy strikes, noting Kyiv began hitting Russian refineries after Moscow's repeated attacks on Ukraine's electricity network. Zelensky requested US and European involvement to bring Russia to negotiations, saying Trump pledged to do "everything possible" to end the conflict. He remains open to a three-way meeting with Putin, and discussed China's influence over Russia ahead of Trump's meeting with Xi Jinping. Ukraine also seeks US help producing Patriot interceptor missiles before winter.
