Russia now builds 3,000 jet-powered Shaheds monthly, half of total output

Russia now produces over 3,000 jet-powered "Geran" drones monthly, with production split roughly evenly between these and older gasoline-powered Shahed models, according to presidential technology adviser Sergei Beskrestnov. The adviser detailed that Russia developed the jet-powered Geran-4 after Ukrainian forces adapted to intercept the slower Geran-3. He stated China supplies critical components including CRPA antennas, mesh modems, jet engines, and cameras, though Russia has begun copying Chinese engines domestically. Beskrestnov suggested Russia's local production efforts aim to demonstrate independence from China, though economic calculations may lead Moscow to continue purchasing cheaper Chinese components. Ukrainian officials have reported intercepting the first Geran-5 drone.
