Putin's battlefield failures are a problem for him — Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on September 22 that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin cannot achieve victory on the battlefield, calling this a problem for him. He made the remarks after a meeting with the US President on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. Zelensky said Putin needs to show results of the war to his own society, but Russian forces have no significant front-line victories. He cited monthly Russian casualties of 32,000-33,000 dead, questioning how Putin can explain such losses without any wins. Zelensky added that Putin's goal is broader than capturing Donbas, aiming for full occupation of Ukraine. Zelensky warned that Putin seeks to divide Europe from the United States to reduce support for Ukraine, potentially attacking other countries. He cited risks of drone and missile attacks on Moldova, Romania, Poland, and German airports, urging European nations to respond firmly to prevent further Russian aggression.
