Zelensky at UN: Putin wants to occupy Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and other cities

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the UN General Assembly, stating that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants to occupy Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and other Ukrainian cities, and warned of a harsh winter ahead. Zelensky reported that Russia has lost nearly 249,000 troops over eight months, a figure Kyiv says is confirmed for each casualty and exceeds the population of 21 countries. He noted Russia captured just over 1,000 square kilometers of territory, much of which Ukraine has already liberated, and dismissed Putin's latest promise to seize the Donetsk region as his 17th or 18th such pledge in five years. The president said Ukraine strikes Russia's oil industry not for fuel but to limit Moscow's ability to finance the war. He warned that if Russia continues attacking Ukraine's energy and heating systems, Kyiv will have no choice but to make this winter painful for Russia as well.
