Zelenskyy at UN: Russia Uses Citizens From 47 Nations in Ukraine War

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of using citizens from 47 countries, including India, Nepal, and Ghana, in its war against Ukraine, urging those governments to prevent further recruitment. Speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York, Zelenskyy alleged some foreign nationals were deceived into joining the conflict. He also highlighted Russia's military ties with North Korea, noting Ukraine had captured two North Korean prisoners of war. Zelenskyy warned Ukraine could strike Russian energy facilities in response to winter attacks, while the US pushed for a mutual halt on energy infrastructure strikes. He also called for trade restrictions to limit Russia's war financing.
