Russian drone attacks cut internet for 100,000 households in Kyiv and region, Ukraine says

Russian drone attacks on Wednesday disrupted internet services for about 100,000 households in Kyiv and its surrounding region, Ukraine's digital ministry said. The attacks lasted from morning into early afternoon, with experts assessing damage and conducting repairs. Russia's Defence Ministry said it struck data centres and logistics sites used for the Ukrainian military, identifying two centres hit in Kyiv and two logistical centres in Odesa. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the strikes, saying they endangered lives by disrupting access to life-saving missile and drone threat alerts. The ministry described the data centres as critical civilian infrastructure essential for daily functioning, not military targets. The attacks highlight ongoing Russian efforts to target Ukraine's digital and communications networks amid the war.
