Russia launched 161 drones at Ukraine; air defense downed 122

On the night of September 23, Russia attacked Ukraine with 161 drones of various types, including jet-powered ones, and Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 122 of them. According to the Air Force, as of 08:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 119 enemy UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types, plus three "Banderol"/"Dan-T" drones. Hits were recorded at 18 locations, with debris falling at 8 more. The attack, launched from Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, Donetsk, and Gvardeyskoye, involved Shaheds, Gerbera, and decoy drones. The assault is ongoing, with enemy UAVs still in the airspace, countered by aviation, missile forces, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups.
