Explosions in Kyiv precede missile alert as Russia targets energy sites

in.gr (Greek) —

Explosions were heard in Kyiv early Thursday before an air raid alert was declared, as Russian ballistic missiles targeted the Ukrainian capital and Chernihiv regions. The blasts triggered car alarms across the city. The Ukrainian air force issued the warning after the explosions, stating Russian missiles were heading toward the areas. A Russian strike reportedly hit an energy facility, causing power outages and water supply problems in parts of Kyiv. The attack follows Russian strikes on Wednesday that killed at least seven people in Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow will not pause its war against Ukraine.
