Zelensky asks Trump to arrange Putin meeting to end war

Ukrainian political analyst Ivan Uyas said President Volodymyr Zelensky asked US President Donald Trump to arrange a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war, according to his remarks on Cairo News channel. Uyas stated the Trump-Zelensky meeting was open and produced nothing new, with the core question remaining whether Russia is ready for a trilateral summit involving the American, Ukrainian, and Russian presidents. He noted Ukraine wants to end the war and believes direct leader-to-leader talks could help, with US assistance in organizing them. The analyst said Russia's response to the proposal is unknown, as Putin has consistently reacted negatively when asked about meeting Zelensky. While Russia currently does not want such a meeting, Uyas personally believes it could happen, but not before the end of the year.
