Zelenskyy tells UN that 248,000 Russian soldiers killed or wounded this year

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the UN General Assembly on Wednesday that 248,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or seriously wounded so far this year, calling the figure "madness" and claiming video evidence exists for each case. Zelenskyy said Russia poses an existential threat to Ukraine and that the war has strengthened North Korea's missile capabilities while making the world more unsafe. He urged leaders to increase pressure on Moscow and praised Ukrainian strikes on Russia's oil sector. Hours after the speech, around ten explosions rocked Kyiv following ballistic missile warnings. Russia's foreign minister said Moscow will take no pause in the war, while at least seven people were killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine on Wednesday.
