Ukraine confirms advance near Oskil River in Kharkiv region

Ukraine has confirmed a localized military success in the eastern Kharkiv region, reporting progress in reducing a Russian bridgehead along the Oskil River. The announcement follows reports of the liberation of the village of Zapadne north of Kupjansk. Ukrainian military spokesperson Viktor Trehubow confirmed "certain successes" in the operation, though he declined to provide details. The Oskil River has been a strategic barrier, with Russian forces repeatedly attempting crossings since 2022 and establishing a bridgehead last January.
