Iran tells UN it won't surrender to US but stays open to diplomacy

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the UN General Assembly on Wednesday that Iran will not surrender in its war with the US but remains open to diplomacy to end the conflict, Reuters reported. Pezeshkian rejected President Trump's threat to annihilate Iran, calling the remarks "a sign of a bullying mentality," and said Iranians will not bow to pressure. He also dismissed US accusations of terrorism, stating Iran is ready to resolve issues through negotiations but will not accept the language of force. The US delegation walked out at the start of his speech. Pezeshkian showed photos of civilians killed in US strikes, including an attack on a school in Minab that killed over 175 children and teachers. He reiterated Iran seeks no nuclear weapons but will not abandon peaceful nuclear rights, and warned that blocking Iran's access to the Strait of Hormuz would not lead to peace.
