Ukraine and US make progress on Patriot missile license at UN meeting

During a meeting between Ukrainian and US leaders in New York on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly, the sides made some progress on a license for Ukraine to produce Patriot air defense system missiles, according to RBC-Ukraine citing an informed source. The anonymous source said progress was achieved on the Patriot license issue during the meeting with Trump. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported he had not received a clear answer from the American side on obtaining the license. The source added that regarding other important issues concerning Ukraine, the ball is currently in Russia's court. According to RBC-Ukraine, a meeting is expected later in the evening US time at the level of advisers with US President's special representative Steve Witkoff, presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner, and representatives of the E3. Zelensky said there are about twenty important issues for discussion at the General Assembly, including an energy ceasefire with Russia, for which Ukraine expressed readiness and the US promised to convey the signal to Moscow.
