Rubio says US will push for Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire

pravda.com.ua (Ukrainian)

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington will attempt to broker an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, acknowledging the task is difficult. Rubio noted both sides view strikes on each other's energy infrastructure as a strategic military goal, making a sudden agreement unlikely. He added that such a ceasefire would benefit both countries and that the US is ready to play a positive role. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the US did not request a unilateral halt to strikes on Russian energy facilities. President Donald Trump previously urged Zelensky to stop attacks on Russian refineries.
