Russia Strikes Ukraine With Ballistics and 280 Drones; Kyiv and Odesa Hit

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with ballistic missiles and over 280 drones, with air defense shooting down four Zircon and three Iskander missiles, according to Ukraine's Air Force. The strike targeted Odesa and Kyiv regions, causing casualties and damage. Air defense neutralized 227 targets total, including 219 drones and one Banderol munition, with impacts recorded at 13 locations and debris falls at 10. In Kyiv, two people died and eight were injured, with hits near a maternity hospital and warehouses, while Odesa reported damage to a medical facility, school, and homes. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 60% of ballistic missiles were intercepted during the night attack on Kyiv. The assault followed a massive daytime drone strike on September 23, with Russia using Zircon, Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 missiles and Shahed, Gerbera, and other drone types.
