Zelensky: Ukraine ready for mutual halt of energy strikes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on September 22 after a meeting with US President Donald Trump in New York that Ukraine is ready for a mutual halt of strikes on energy infrastructure, proposing the principle: "You don't attack, and we won't attack you." Zelensky stated Kyiv is prepared to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries and energy facilities if Moscow ceases strikes on Ukrainian power, heating, and water supply systems. The US will transmit Ukraine's proposal to Russia, and Kyiv is open to any format for such an energy truce. Zelensky said he doesn't know Russia's position but thanked the US for willingness to relay the proposal. He also discussed China's potential influence on Russia with Trump and noted that Washington did not demand unilateral Ukrainian strikes cessation, contrary to some media reports.
