Russian missile strikes kill two in Kyiv as attacks hit Odesa

At least two people were killed Thursday in a series of Russian missile strikes on Kyiv, where dozens of explosions were heard during an air raid alert. Ukrainian air force warned of incoming Russian ballistic missiles before about twenty explosions occurred. Kyiv's mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents to stay in shelters, while President Volodymyr Zelensky reported strikes on residential buildings, a maternity hospital, and energy infrastructure, with several wounded and people trapped under rubble. The attack coincided with Zelensky's meetings with US Congress members to request stronger sanctions against Moscow. Russian strikes also targeted Odesa, following Wednesday's bombardments that killed at least seven people across Ukraine, including two in Kyiv.
