Russia's Lavrov: No Halt in Military Action for Ukraine Talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Russia will not cease military actions to facilitate negotiations with Ukraine, as reported by RBC. Speaking at a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine, Lavrov said Moscow is ready for talks to achieve a "lasting and just peace," but favors a long-term peace agreement over a ceasefire. He claimed the 2015 Minsk agreements would have preserved Ukraine's 1991 borders except Crimea, blaming Europe for their failure. Lavrov also criticized Ukraine's treatment of the Russian language and called reburials of Nazi collaborators in Kyiv "the culmination of Ukraine's nazification." He said US President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner confirmed Washington's interest in resolving the conflict during recent Moscow visits.
