Zelensky backs trilateral Ukraine-US-Russia talks at G20 summit in Miami

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a briefing in New York that the G20 summit in Miami could serve as a platform for a trilateral meeting involving Ukraine, the US,and Russia, and Kyiv would support such a format if an appropriate agreement is reached. Zelensky called the proposal by President Trump one of the best opportunities, saying the G20 format could create conditions for a meeting with a real result, as it includes not only European partners but also China, India,and Middle Eastern states that maintain economic ties with Russia. He confirmed Ukraine's support for the format if agreed upon. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously expressed hope that Russian leader Vladimir Putin would attend the December summitin Miami, though Bloomberg reported Putin would likely skip it. Putin has already declined Zelensky's offer for talks at the G20, and Trump has said he does not know whether Putin would agree to a trilateral meeting.
