Zelensky: Russia uses citizens of 47 countries in its war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia is using citizens of 47 countries in its war against Ukraine, recruiting them through deception and various tricks. He made the announcement on September 23 during his address to the UN General Assembly. Zelensky noted that Russia's war effort involves citizens from Ghana, Nepal, Tajikistan, India, Yemen, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Belarus, Sudan, South Africa, and many other nations. He said drone footage shows non-Russians dying on the battlefield, and Ukraine periodically receives requests to return specific prisoners of war to their home countries. The president appealed to representatives of all 47 countries, urging them to protect their citizens and prevent them from ending up on the front lines. He emphasized that these are their citizens and that Russia is exploiting them through false promises and manipulation.
