Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the UN General Assembly on Wednesday that Iran will not surrender to the United States, while expressing belief in diplomacy to end the Middle East war. The US delegation walked out at the start of Pezeshkian's speech. The US mission to the UN did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Strait of Hormuz, a passage for a fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas before the war, has become a tension point. Pezeshkian said it is unacceptable that others benefit from the strait while Iran is denied navigation access, adding that permanent hostile fleets and war expansion will not bring peace.
