Russian strikes kill 8 in Kyiv and Kharkiv, hit Black Sea tanker

Russian attacks on Ukraine on Thursday killed eight people in Kyiv and Kharkiv, with strikes also hitting Odesa and a fuel tanker in the Black Sea. The assault included ballistic missiles targeting the capital's power grid. Six people died and eight were injured in a Russian strike on a farm in Kharkiv region, according to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. In Kyiv, around 20 explosions were heard, killing two and wounding six, with Mayor Vitali Klitschko urging residents to shelter. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the deaths, noting the strikes occurred during his peace talks in the US. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned Wednesday at the UN that Moscow will not pause its war against Ukraine.
