Turkey steps up diplomacy to revive Black Sea grain corridor

Turkey has intensified diplomatic efforts to restore the Black Sea grain corridor, with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirming Ukraine has given a positive response to the initiative. Erdogan stated that Black Sea security is vital for Turkey and the region, emphasizing the sea must not become a war front. He reiterated Turkey's rejection of attacks on commercial vessels and expects responsible behavior from all parties. The Turkish president said he discussed the matter again with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the UN General Assembly in New York. Turkey has also submitted a de-escalation proposal for the Black Sea to both Ukraine and Russia.
