Russia Downs 514 Ukrainian Drones Over 15 Regions on September 23

On September 23, Russian air defense forces destroyed 514 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over multiple Russian regions, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The drones were shot down over 15 regions including Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, and Moscow, as well as Krasnodar Krai, Crimea, Bashkortostan, and Tatarstan. In the Belgorod region, eight people were wounded, with two in serious condition. One civilian was injured in Gorlovka, DNR. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported over 1,600 drones intercepted nationwide in 24 hours, with 450 approaching Moscow, calling it the largest attack on the capital. He linked the assault to attempts to disrupt State Duma elections.
