Russian strike hits Zelensky's party HQ in Kyiv during UN address

A Russian attack struck a convention center housing Volodymyr Zelensky's party headquarters in Kyiv on Wednesday while the Ukrainian leader addressed the UN General Assembly in New York, according to Kyiv city officials. The attacks killed two people and wounded 43 in the capital. The strike was part of a series of offensives across Ukraine that day. Impacts included one near a university and two on the convention center, with the second hitting as Zelensky spoke. The roof was damaged and a fire extinguished. Russian forces also dropped four aerial bombs on Oleksandrivka in Donetsk, killing at least five people. Regional governor Vadym Filashkin reported six wounded and seven missing, including two children, under rubble in Oleksandrivka. Damage there included 12 apartment buildings, 42 private homes, an administrative building, a kindergarten, a store, and seven vehicles, with search and rescue ongoing.
