Russia strikes Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv in retaliation for Ukrainian drone attack

Russia launched retaliatory strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv after a Ukrainian drone attack on Russian regions killed one person in Samara Oblast. The strikes targeted warehouses, fuel depots, and factories supporting Ukraine's armed forces. Russian Major General Sergei Lipovoy told aif.ru that 297 Ukrainian drones were shot down over 15 Russian regions overnight. He said strikes hit Kyiv, Brovary, Odesa, and Vinnytsia, causing prolonged detonations and fires at military storage sites, ammunition depots, and fuel facilities. Lipovoy claimed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is urgently calling European leaders for air defense interceptors and weapons. Russian military sources reported six factories, five logistics centers, and ports in Odesa and Izmail were hit, with a fuel depot in Kyiv destroyed.
