Russian strike on Kyiv railway injures worker, delays trains

Russian forces attacked Kyiv's railway infrastructure overnight Wednesday, September 23, injuring a railway worker and causing train departure delays from the capital. Ukrainian Railways CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi reported the incident. One railway worker suffered shrapnel wounds while returning home after a shift and is hospitalized receiving necessary care. Pertsovskyi urged people to avoid railway facilities during air alerts and seek shelter regardless of threat level, noting passengers missing trains due to safety measures will receive full ticket refunds and can take the next departure. The attack also hit warehouses in Holosiivskyi district, two gas stations, and two transport enterprises across the capital, with one injured person in Darnytskyi district and a fire on a gas station roof. Crews are working to eliminate consequences, but repeated threats force workers to withdraw from sites, affecting timely departures.
