Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived in New York to participate in the UN General Assembly's high-level week, according to RIA Novosti. Before his arrival, Russia's Foreign Ministry stated that Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will discuss Russia-U.S. cooperation at the UN during their meeting. The ministry noted that both countries, as permanent Security Council members, possess vast but largely untapped potential for collaboration. The 81st UN General Assembly session opened in New York on September 8. General debates run from September 22 to 26, plus September 28. Lavrov is scheduled to address the assembly on Saturday, September 26, following his earlier "shocking" speech.
