Zelensky offers Russia a reciprocal energy truce

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is ready for any format of an energy truce with Russia, but only on a reciprocal basis, following his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the UN General Assembly in New York. Zelensky stated Ukraine would not strike Russian oil refining facilities if Moscow refrains from attacking Ukraine's energy system and water supply. He thanked the American side for promising to convey this position to Russia and expressed hope the US would find ways to bring Moscow to the negotiating table. Trump had repeatedly pressed Zelensky to halt attacks on Russian refineries, citing global fuel market impacts. Over the weekend, Ukraine intensified strikes, including a major attack on the Moscow region that halted the Moscow refinery's operations, prompting Trump to say the war "must be stopped."
