Zelensky says Trump agreed to license Patriot missile production in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said US President Donald Trump agreed to grant Ukraine a license to produce missiles for Patriot air and missile defense systems, a topic discussed during their closed-door meeting in New York. Zelensky said production could begin in about one to one and a half years, with Raytheon ready to cooperate. He asked Trump to expedite the process, noting the US gave no specific answer on transferring Patriot missiles to Ukraine. Zelensky also said the US will pass Ukraine's energy ceasefire proposal to Russia, and that Trump did not ask Ukraine to stop strikes unilaterally. A trilateral meeting remains possible, though Zelensky believes Putin is not ready to end the war.
