Russia resumed attacks on Kyiv on Monday night after a three-day pause, with air raid alerts activated and air defense engaged, Ukrainian authorities announced. The strikes hit buildings in the Boryspil and Fastiv districts on the capital's outskirts, according to emergency services. The pause had been in place during the visit of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with Ukraine also suspending attacks on the Moscow region. Witkoff, making his first wartime trip to Ukraine, said the weekend visits to both capitals yielded "substantial progress" toward organizing tripartite negotiations to end the conflict Russia started in February 2022.
