Kyiv attack injures six, rescue operations ongoing

A Russian attack on Kyiv overnight on September 8 injured six people and left 13 others rescued, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service. Destruction and fires were reported in at least five districts of the city. In Holosiivskyi district, a strike on a 26-story non-residential building destroyed structures on the 23rd floor, while a garage fire spread to a nearby business center. Rescuers saved one person there and evacuated two others from a damaged apartment building. In Solomianskyi district, ten people were rescued from a five-story residential building, with one hospitalized. Fires were also extinguished in Darnytskyi, Podilskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts, affecting garages, warehouses, and vehicles. The death toll and casualty figures are still being confirmed as rescue operations continue. Kyiv was previously reported to be under ballistic attack.
