Ukraine reports 181 combat clashes; Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka see heaviest fighting
The Ukrainian General Staff reported 181 combat clashes on September 7, with Russian forces conducting 62 airstrikes, dropping 168 guided bombs, and launching 5,506 kamikaze drones. The most intense fighting occurred on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka fronts, where Ukrainian forces repelled 32 and nine assaults respectively. On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian troops reportedly eliminated 67 occupiers and wounded 23, destroying four vehicles, ten pieces of special equipment, and 53 shelters. Attacks were also repelled on the Kupiansk, Lyman, and Huliaipole axes, with two clashes still ongoing in the latter area. Russian forces have spent about a week probing Ukrainian defenses near Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast, likely preparing further advances. On the Kostiantynivka front, small Russian infantry groups are seeking weak points in Ukrainian lines.
