Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Refineries Hours After US Envoys Push Peace Talks

Ukrainian drones struck three Russian oil refineries on Monday, hours after US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff visited Moscow and Kyiv to revive peace talks. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attacks targeted facilities in Russia's Perm region, Tatarstan and Ryazan. Zelenskyy also reported strikes on Russian drone launch sites in Kursk and a target in the Black Sea. The attacks followed the envoys' meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy, with Witkoff claiming "substantive progress" toward scheduling further trilateral negotiations. US officials have linked Ukrainian strikes on Russian energy infrastructure to rising global fuel prices, with Energy Secretary Chris Wright calling them the "single-biggest factor." Zelenskyy said his talks focused on air defence needs, technological cooperation and winter preparations.
