Ukrainian drone strikes hit Ryazan refinery and Russian cities after US envoy talks

Ukrainian drones struck Russia's Ryazan oil refinery and triggered explosions across multiple cities overnight, damaging homes and injuring a child, hours after US envoys met President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. The Ryazan refinery caught fire with flames visible for miles, while explosions hit Rostov-on-Don, where three residential buildings were damaged and a child hospitalized. Russian officials said around 30 drones were destroyed over the Rostov region. The attacks followed White House-confirmed talks between Putin and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who discussed next steps to be announced in coming weeks. The refinery, previously hit in May, processed 4.9 percent of Russia's crude in 2024.
