Kyiv hit by ballistic missiles, fires break out after overnight attack

Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight into Tuesday, September 8, causing fires and damage to residential buildings. At least eight ballistic missiles were launched at the capital, with debris falling on homes in the Solomianskyi and Darnytskyi districts. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported debris hitting a five-story residential building in Solomianskyi district and a three-story building elsewhere, while a car was damaged in Darnytskyi. Russia also launched missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers, which entered Ukrainian airspace, as the ballistic attack continued. No casualties have been reported so far. The attack follows Monday evening strikes on civilian infrastructure in Brovary and Boryspil districts, damaging a warehouse, an enterprise, and a private house.
