US envoy reports progress toward three-way talks with Russia and Ukraine

A top US envoy reported progress in weekend talks with Russia and Ukraine, raising the possibility of reviving three-way peace negotiations to end Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced "substantive progress" on scheduling additional trilateral talks. Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, traveled to Russia and Ukraine for separate meetings with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. A senior Ukrainian official said the envoys brought new proposals, though Zelensky warned fighting could continue into winter. The Kremlin did not rule out future three-way talks but gave no dates.
