Russian drone and missile strikes kill two in Kyiv region

Russia resumed attacks on the Kyiv region on Monday evening, killing at least two people, according to local authorities. Attacks were also reported inside Russia. Kyiv's emergency service said on Telegram that a Russian drone attack caused fires in industrial buildings in Boryspil and Fastiv. The capital was hit with both drones and ballistic missiles, leaving at least two dead and seven injured, per the city's military administration. In Russia, air raid warnings sounded, with Saratov governor Roman Busargin reporting Ukrainian drones damaged civilian infrastructure. The region hosts an oil refinery and airbase previously targeted by Ukraine. Both nations had paused strikes on each other's capitals during visits by US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
