Russia Open to Resuming Peace Talks with Ukraine and US

The Kremlin said Monday it does not rule out resuming trilateral peace talks with Ukraine and the United States, though it is too early to specify a venue or dates. The statement follows a weekend visit to Moscow and Kyiv by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the possibility of restarting the three-way format, citing Kyiv's earlier statements, but declined to discuss details of U.S. peace proposals or the hardest outstanding issues. He also did not rule out a phone call between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to discuss the envoys' trip. Peskov praised the American negotiators' peace-building efforts as "a small step towards peace," noting Putin's gratitude for Trump's commitment. Moscow said it had not yet received information about the envoys' contacts with Ukrainian officials in Kyiv on Sunday.
