Russian ballistic missile strike damages Kyiv residential buildings

Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight into Tuesday, September 8, causing damage to residential buildings. The strikes came from three directions: Kursk, Voronezh, and Bryansk, with a series of explosions reported. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported debris falling on a five-story residential building in the Solomensky district, and a three-story residential building was damaged at another location. A warehouse fire broke out in the same area, while in the Darnytsky district a car was damaged by debris. Fires were also reported in non-residential areas in the Podolsky district, and Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said a fire occurred on the grounds of an educational institution in the Holosiivsky district, with people possibly trapped in a residential building. The attack followed an evening assault on September 7 involving drones and strategic aviation, with Tu-160 and Tu-95MS aircraft detected launching missiles.
