Russian drone strikes on Ukrainian cities injure children and damage homes

Russia attacked Ukraine with drones from the evening of August 5 through the morning of August 6, striking several major cities and causing casualties, including children. The overnight assault resulted in injuries and damage to residential buildings across multiple regions. In Kherson, a drone attack damaged an apartment in the Dneprovsky district, injuring two adults and two children. An 11-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, and a 36-year-old woman were hospitalized with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds, while a 39-year-old man received medical aid on site. In Zaporizhye, six people were injured at different locations, and a multi-story building was damaged. In the Fastov district of Kyiv region, a fire broke out at an infrastructure facility, which was extinguished by emergency services. In the Khmelnitsky region, a drone damaged a multi-story building, injuring seven people, and fires at local enterprises were contained. The Orlovka checkpoint in the Izmail district of Odesa region temporarily suspended operations following an attack on border infrastructure.
