Overnight into August 6, Russia launched a mass drone attack on multiple major Ukrainian cities, causing fires, damaging residential buildings, and injuring civilians, including children. In Kherson, a drone strike on an apartment damaged a unit, injuring two adults and two children; an 11-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, and a 36-year-old woman were hospitalized with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. In Zaporizhzhia, six people were injured across different locations, and a high-rise building was damaged. In the Fastiv district of Kyiv region, a large infrastructure fire was extinguished by emergency services. Elsewhere, a drone damaged a multi-story building in Khmelnytskyi, injuring seven people, and struck the Orlivka checkpoint in Odesa region, temporarily suspending its operations. The attacks also targeted enterprises in the Khmelnytskyi district, where fires were contained.
