Russian forces strike Kyiv's Southern Bridge again
Russian forces struck the Southern Bridge in Kyiv again, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who said emergency services are heading to the scene. The bridge was already closed to traffic and metro due to previous attacks. Klitschko stated on social media that the bridge remains closed for vehicles and metro following several enemy strikes. The latest hit occurred after two drones struck near the bridge's support section on the morning of October 1. Russian troops also shelled the Southern Bridge again that same day and struck it once more overnight into October 2. The bridge was fully closed afterward, with traffic on the Paton Bridge halted and Metro Bridge movement partially restricted. Klitschko said metro will not run across the Southern Bridge until experts assess the damage.
