Explosion hits Kyiv's Southern Bridge, transport halted

ura.news (Russian) —

An explosion occurred near Kyiv's Southern Bridge on October 2, according to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, who reported another strike on the structure. Metro and surface transport across the bridge have been halted. Klitschko stated emergency services are heading to the site. Earlier that day, several blasts were recorded near the bridge's supports, and an air raid alert was declared in the city. The Southern Bridge is crucial to Ukraine's transport system, carrying 90 percent of transit traffic between parts of the country and a significant share of military shipments, linking routes to Odesa, Chop, and Kharkiv.
