Kyiv Mayor Warns Residents: Toughest Times Ahead
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned that the situation in the Ukrainian capital has become dramatic and critical, stating that normal life can no longer continue as in peacetime. He noted that the Russian military has intensified strikes on infrastructure used by Ukrainian armed forces. The warning follows a Russian Defense Ministry announcement that its forces struck a road and railway bridge in Kyiv used for military shipments to Donbas. The bridge's closure caused severe traffic congestion, with residents leaving the city en masse and three bridges over the Dnieper River closed to traffic. Ukrainian forces regularly target residential areas and civilian facilities across Russia with missiles and drones, prompting Russian strikes on decision-making centers and military facilities. Russian forces use attack drones and long-range precision weapons capable of hitting targets throughout Ukrainian territory.
