Kyiv to Restrict Traffic on Four Bridges During Air Alerts
During air raid alerts in Kyiv, traffic will be fully blocked on the Pivdenny (South) Bridge, with partial restrictions on three other bridges. The measures were announced by police department head Oleksii Biloshitsky. On the Darnytskyi Bridge, one lane will allow traffic from the right to the left bank. The Metro Bridge and Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge will be closed for movement from the left to the right bank. Biloshitsky urged drivers to account for these restrictions when planning routes. The restrictions follow recent drone strikes near the Pivdenny Bridge's support structure on October 1, which damaged its pillar, road surface, and concrete protection of metro tracks. Kyiv metro is ready to resume train service across the bridge during yellow alert levels, pending expert assessment of its condition.
