Russian drone strike injures rescuer at Zaporizhzhia fire unit

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

On the evening of October 2, Russian forces attacked a fire and rescue unit in the Zaporizhzhia district with a drone, injuring one rescuer. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that Russian troops deliberately struck the unit's territory just as the emergency workers were preparing to respond to a call. The injured rescuer is receiving necessary medical care, and no other casualties have been reported. This is not the first Russian attack on rescuers in the region. On the night of August 31, a drone hit another fire station, damaging the building, a fire truck, and a car, though personnel were in shelter and unharmed.
