Eight oil reservoirs burn at Russia's Samara station after strike
Eight oil reservoirs caught fire at the Samara linear production dispatch station in Russia after a strike, with the blaze covering over 15,000 square meters as of the evening of October 2. Pipeline sections and a pumping station were also damaged, and the fire was still ongoing. The monitoring Telegram channel Supernova+ reported that five RVS-20,000 reservoirs burned in the station's first and second zones, while three larger RVS-50,000 units were hit in the third zone. The fire's total area exceeded 15,000 square meters, with damage potentially increasing. The station transports and distributes oil to nearby refineries and connects to the Druzhba pipeline, the BTS-2 system toward Ust-Luga, and the southern route to Tikhoretsk. Preliminary estimates value the eight damaged reservoirs at $100–125 million, with total asset losses including oil reaching about $200 million.
